The Browns have built their roster through free agency due to a lack of draft capital, and DE Myles Garrett has high expectations for Cleveland's defense under new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.
"We can make this a group that can be feared because we're going to be here for a long time. We're going to be consistently good for a long time," Garrett told reporters.

It isn't surprising that Garrett is confident heading into 2023 after posting back-to-back 16-sack seasons but he may want to push the breaks on the defense as a whole, at least for now.
The Browns added free agents Dalvin Tomlinson and Obo Okoronkwo to their defensive line this offseason. However, they are joining a team that didn't have a player not named Myles Garrett exceed three sacks in 2022. The two had a combined 7.5 sacks last season.
The two veterans should make Garrett's life easier but having new starters at multiple positions can take a defense some time to start playing well as an overall unit.
Although, there always seems to be a team that goes from worst to first every year. Maybe the Browns, led by their defense, will shock the NFL world and be that team in 2023.
